The World’s Most Pawsome Mascot
By 1993, Mario and Sonic were lighting up the video game world. With each new game, their stories grew deeper and their worlds began the expansion that would eventually lead to their inevitable convergence a few decades later. Certainly there was room for another friendly character?

WEVAL - SOMEDAY

WEVAL - SOMEDAY

http://bit.ly/2IcXeDz Taken from Weval's second album "The Weight". http://bit.ly/2swQ067 Last year Weval approached me with the idea of developing a music video for 'Someday'. Upon listening to the track ,which I loved, I had ideas of what I thought would fit. After some discussions with the guys we came up with a loose structure. We aimed at creating an abstract journey with a sense of ambiguity holding underlying core concepts: Where are we going, are we going in the right direction? Our situation on earth is fragile, as individuals, as a people and the planet itself is delicate Nothing is certain; life can change dramatically for better or for worse in an instant. We may fear losing what we have but we try to hold on. Big thanks to Weval, super happy to put images behind their amazing sounds! Imagery: Personal photography,Google earth Stock,Public domain.

A Thousand Casts

A Thousand Casts

Winner of the 2019 Vimeo Staff Pick Award at Mountainfilm in Telluride, CO. Directed by Ben Knight and Travis Rummel Fisherman Oliver White’s life reads like a storybook. Hand-plucked to work for a high-power financial firm while he was a fishing guide, he went on to pursue a dream in the Bahamas, narrowly escape death and build a nonprofit [https://www.indifly.org] that takes him around the world using fly fishing to help indigenous communities protect water. A Thousand Casts follows this philosopher and outdoorsman to the Kingdom of Bhutan, where the royal family has invited him to find a mythical fish on the brink of extinction. Does Oliver have "a golden horseshoe up his ass," or does he possess a depth of character that’s rare in today’s world? The answer reveals itself with each cast.

And the actors play very well. – Svend Jensen, head of Arthaus BERGEN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2017 Best Norwegian Short Film: NO MAN IS AN ISLAND Statement: The winner is a brave and ambitious film that doesn’t shy away from big existential and political questions. Made in different modes, sometimes in a manner that can even be pretentious, it manages to land its many ideas elegantly, winning the audience with an authentic, humorous and spontaneous approach. A surprisingly fresh film about friendship, belonging and prejudice, and an impressively confident start for its filmmaker. Jury BIFF: Aleksander Huser, Einar Aarvig, Henning Rosenlund MINIMALEN 2018 Best Norwegian Short Film: NO MAN IS AN ISLAND Statement: The jury was impressed with the visually beautiful scenes, the sound design, acting and poetry in this film. This poetry is juxtaposed with an encounter with the rough reality of racism hidden behind a message of tolerance which makes the glass ceiling even more hurtful for the protagonists of the film.

36 Days of Type — An Animated Collaboration

36 Days of Type — An Animated Collaboration

I contacted 36 designers and illustrators with the idea of animating a unique letter/number from each artist. The goal was to carry out a worldwide collaboration with 36 artists. I also wanted to challenge myself to try out different animation styles that I don’t usually get a chance to work on. The project has been an absolute success, far exceeding my expectations! For those of you who don't know, “36 Days of Type is a project that invites designers, illustrators and graphic artists to express their particular interpretation of letters and numbers of our alphabet” Finally, I would like to give a huge thanks to all of the artists that let me animate their work. Thank you for making this project possible! And thank you to the more than 1600 people that have started following me over this past month. Your comments and support have made this all worth it. The Last Taboo

The Last Taboo

A father who chooses not to live with his children is still a father. But, in the eyes of many, a mother who chooses not to live with her kids is a monster. In this provocative short documentary, three women who made the decision to mother from afar tell their stories, and open up about what they lost—and gained—when they left the homes they had shared with their children. At a time when there’s growing acceptance for alternative family models, why does the idea of non-custodial motherhood still have the power to shock and appall? Directed by Chloe White

Freaks of Nurture

Freaks of Nurture

Freaks of Nurture is an animated short about a neurotic mother-daughter relationship inspired by the filmmaker’s own unorthodox upbringing with her single-parent mom, who is also a foster parent and dog breeder. Self-deprecating and bursting with energy, the film reveals that no matter how grown-up we think we are, we never quite stop craving the love and support of a parent. Drawn to Atlanta by his love of hip-hop, Zach Wolfe has photographed some of the industry’s biggest names—and it all started when a chance encounter led to a big break. https://adobe.ly/2VeaKj4 In 1996, Wolfe, then 18 years old, heard the debut album of Atlanta-based hip-hop duo OutKast, and his life would never be the same. Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik was a distinctly Southern hip-hop album, and it put Atlanta hip-hop on the map. The first time Wolfe listened to it, he thought, “I don’t know what’s going on in Atlanta, but I have to go there.” Read more at: https://adobe.ly/2VeaKj4 Credits Sr. Creative Director: Dan Cowles, Adobe Sr. Video Producer: Summer Wilson, Adobe Director and Editor: Trevor Gavin, ALCHEMYcreative Producer: Laura Techera Francia, ALCHEMYcreative Director of Photography: Will Myers, ALCHEMYcreative 1st Assistant Camera: Neil Dearman 2nd Assistant Camera: Alex Smith Gaffer: Todd Gardner Grip: Zakk Martin Sound Operator: Kevin Jones Makeup: Hope Ferguson Production Assistant: Eric Kays Color Correction: ALCHEMYcreative

Supernova - Art film by Maxim Zhestkov

Supernova - Art film by Maxim Zhestkov

Supernova is an experimental 4K art film directed and designed by Maxim Zhestkov. Everything around and inside us was conceived in a huge explosion of a star billions of years ago… and, probably, recycled from other matrices myriad times. In this eternal carousel of matter, particles gather, form complicated structures and then burst into all directions fusing atoms together and producing new elements and points of view, new colours and patterns of perception. Explosions could be perceived as a destructive force and the process of tearing previously formed matter apart and, therefore, could have negative connotations; however, fundamentally, only the process of breaking familiar structures and rearranging them into new, more sophisticated shapes could kindle new meanings and ideas and be the main creative force forming the future. In the art film, we made computer simulations with millions of particles to explore the behaviour and the beauty of the creative force of destruction. The art film was initiated as the title sequence for FITC 2019 / Amsterdam and produced by www.Zhestkov.Studio. As the songs of fisherman fill the backing track we record the rhythm of local musicians, and the dancers that work magic within it. A world away, where rhythm can ease the tensions of real life, we witness the pure joy of a lone surfer laying down a groove on an endless wave. THE ARCTIC

THE ARCTIC

THE ARCTIC began in October 2018 and lasted for about seven months. It records the crystallization processes of different salts. During this period, we explored various forms of the crystals and their wonderful growth patterns. Most of the footage was captured by time-lapse photography. The tile of this film comes from the icy sensation of the Arctic. We hope this film can remind viewers the stunning beauty of the ice world and the importance of protecting our planet.
